MOBILE HOME SKIRTING

Mobile Home Skirting for a Finished, Protected Look

The right skirting can improve the appearance of your mobile home while helping protect the space underneath it. Skirting upgrades and accessories add the finishing details that help make your installation cleaner, stronger, and more functional. From access doors and vents to bracing, edging, and color-matched finishing pieces, these options help complete the job and make your skirting easier to use long after installation.

Southern Mobile Home Services offers a variety of skirting upgrades and accessories that can be added based on the type of skirting selected, the layout of the home, and the needs of the property. Some accessories are used for support and installation, while others are designed for access, ventilation, or a more finished appearance.

Built Around Your Home

Every mobile home is different, and the right accessories depend on the layout, skirting type, height, access needs, and overall project goals. Southern Mobile Home Services can help determine which skirting upgrades and accessories make the most sense for your home, giving you a finished result that is practical, clean, and built to fit your property.

Support and Installation Accessories

A strong skirting installation starts with the right support pieces. Depending on the skirting style and job requirements, accessories may include anchors, concrete L brackets, 4x4 up-rights, skirting boards, full kickplates, concrete pavers, and stair edging. These items help support the skirting, improve stability, and create a cleaner finished look around the base of the home.

These accessories are especially helpful for homes where the ground surface, height, or surrounding layout requires extra attention during installation. The goal is to create a finished skirting system that looks good and is built to hold up to everyday use.

Studs and Bracing

Studs are provided for all skirting jobs except vertical skirting. For vertical skirting installations, bracing can be added behind the skirting as an upgrade. This gives the skirting additional support and can help create a stronger installation depending on the property and selected skirting style.

Bracing may be recommended when extra stability is needed or when the layout of the home requires additional backing behind the skirting panels. This upgrade is a practical option for homeowners who want added support behind their skirting system.

Access Doors

Access doors can be added to any skirting job to provide a convenient way to reach the area underneath the home. This is helpful for maintenance, inspections, plumbing access, storage access, or future service needs.

Key-lock access doors are available in black or white and measure 23" tall x 31" wide. The locking feature helps keep the under-home area more secure while still allowing easy access when needed.

Color-Matched J-Channel

J-channel is a finishing piece that helps create a cleaner edge around specialty skirting installations. Color-matched J-channel can be added to any specialty job to help the skirting look more complete and polished.

This option is a great finishing detail for homeowners who want their skirting installation to have a more seamless, professional appearance.

Dryer Vents

Dryer vents can be added when the dryer needs to vent properly through the skirting. The vent is run from the underbelly of the home to the outside of the skirting, helping direct dryer exhaust where it needs to go.

This is an important upgrade when the dryer vent location would otherwise be blocked or enclosed by the skirting. Adding a dryer vent during installation helps keep the skirting functional and service-friendly.

Manual Vents

Manual vents can be used in place of perforated skirting to help with airflow underneath the home. Proper ventilation is important because it helps reduce trapped moisture and allows the space under the home to breathe.

Manual vents measure 8" x 16" and are available in white, black, or brown. These vents can be a good option for homeowners who want controlled ventilation while keeping a clean look across the skirting.

Additional Exterior Upgrade Options

In addition to skirting accessories, Southern Mobile Home Services also offers exterior upgrade options such as composite decking and aluminum handrails. These additions can help improve the function, safety, and appearance of the home’s entry areas.

Composite decking offers a clean, durable, low-maintenance finish, while aluminum handrails provide a sturdy and polished railing option. These upgrades can be paired with skirting, steps, or deck projects to create a more complete exterior improvement.

Vented Vertical Skirting

Vented vertical skirting is a clean and practical skirting option for mobile homes. This style uses vertical panels installed around the base of the home to help close in the exposed area underneath. It gives the home a more finished appearance while also helping protect the crawlspace from debris, animals, and everyday outdoor exposure.
